Years ago, tiny Arlington was Texas' one claim to fame as the exact halfway point on the interurban trolley line connecting Dallas and Fort Wroth. A number of private or parochial schools, including the city's largest prep school, The Oakridge School, make up the rest of Arlington's educational opportunities. The University of Texas at Arlington offers bachelors, masters and doctoral programs to its 20,000 students.
